It is a 4.5-mile (7.2 km) hike to reach the lake, which includes a gain of 2,300 feet (700 meters) in elevation. The trailhead begins at the Stuart Lake Trailhead near Leavenworth, Washington. Colchuck Lake is a popular spot for swimming, fishing, and kayaking during the summer months. Winter hiking and skiing are also possible in the area.
